Surprisingly enough, Sony has announced that Killzone 3 multiplayer will be making its way to PSN and offered as a free standalone download. How could this be you ask?
It wasn’t until the latest episode of the Official Playstation Blogcast that all the standard Killzone 3 multiplayer maps were announced to be available as a free to play trial. I’m guessing that Killzone 3 wasn’t quite getting the attention it needed to keep going, or Sony is just trying something new to spice up the Playstation Network. Either way I feel like this is an interesting way to go about the situation, and I’d like to see more of it maybe somewhere down the line.
On the other hand, the trial will include a level cap and players who reach that level cap will then have the choice of paying 14.99 to unlock the full skill tree included within the multiplayer experience. So if your looking for an impressive multiplayer experience without the single player campaign to hold it down, you might be interested in this type of deal.
